Spelwyth
Spelwyth is the capital of Dunmold, built at the confluence of two rivers, the Wealgyle and the Skalwold. There are three districts: the northern, the central, and the southern. A relay web grid that provides free power to all the citizens powers each district. A central relay spire receives the plugged-in cores, and from there, a web network broadcasts across the city using relay spires and nodes attached to each building. These nodes provide the city its electricity.
The city is a balance of religious, arcane, and technological influences. The priests view the relay cores as divine instruments because they still work. Engineers understand them to be technological and arcane marvels. The priest demand ordain engineers be the only ones to work with the cores, or their calibration, but to be ordained you have to know what you are doing, and to know what you are doing you have had to work on the cores.
Within the three districts are temples for all the Watchers and Minor deities, each contributing to the city’s functionality. With six large temples to the Watchers, the central district is the most religious, situated just before the king’s grand castle. With warehouses and factories dominating, the northern district is highly technological, while the southern district, filled with schools and libraries, is predominantly arcane. The city is a balance of all three, with the different districts serving different functions, but all being interconnected by the relay web grid.
Humans are the most numerous ancestry in the city, which also features a blend of all other ancestries. It is a quiet city, located in a kingdom well off the beaten path, with no major trade routes. The have concerns over their neighboring kingdom of Wolfmore, but are not in a state of open conflict, but they are ware of them nonetheless. Across the sea, they have a strong relationship with Morcarp, trading goods and knowledge across the sea. They also wary of the Trillwood and the secrets it might hold, but no active exploration of the woods is happening at the moment.
